Red Yoshis are one of the several color variants of Yoshis, a species from the Mario franchise. Like Yoshis in general, Red Yoshis first appear in Super Mario World, wherein their distinct trait is being able to spit out a few fireballs after putting a Koopa Shell in their mouth. In several Mario spinoff titles and the Super Smash Bros. series, Red Yoshi is a playable character, although usually as an alternate coloration of the playable Yoshi.
Mario Hoops 3-on-3 is the first Final Fantasy-related game in which Red Yoshi appears, although as one of Yoshi's alternate colorations. Mario Sports Mix is the first Final Fantasy-related game in which Red Yoshi is a standalone character.

Mario Hoops 3-on-3
One appears as an alternate color of Yoshi in Mario Hoops 3-on-3, unlocked by achieving a silver trophy in the Flower Tourney on Hard Mode. To play as Red Yoshi, the player must hold

Mario Sports Mix
In Mario Sports Mix, a Red Yoshi is in the Dodgeball game, where it assists the red team on the sidelines.
